If you’re looking for the ultimate indoor waterpark in Minneapolis, then you’re going to want to book a stay at Great Wolf Lodge! This was the place of my dreams growing up, and my parents finally took us when I was 13.

Not only is the location of this hotel perfect, being just minutes from the Mall of America, but it provides the entire family with loads of fun.

Four different waterslides, a wave pool, a lazy river, a children’s area, and a space to test your surfing skills are all found in the waterpark.

Aside from just the pool area, your family can enjoy a climbing wall, a ropes course, an arcade, bowling, and more.

During our visit, I loved the ice cream shop that’s right in the hotel and remember begging my mom and dad for one every day we were there. They only gave in once.

With a 75,000-square-foot waterpark, the largest indoor waterpark in Minnesota, you will never run out of fun to be had, and you’ll be wishing that you could stay another night.

“The water park was very well life-guarded and lots of fun for all of us. The buffet breakfast was great. Very attentive and smiling staff everywhere.”

Just 20 minutes from Minneapolis you’ll find another great option for a waterpark inside a hotel, at the Holiday Inn & Suites in Maple Grove.

Home to what’s known as the Venetian Waterpark, this unique pool area allows you to be whisked away to Italy for the night.

We stayed here a few years ago and when we booked it, didn’t even know there was a waterslide! It was such a fun surprise, and my favorite part was the climbing ladder, which was even fun for me as an adult.

There’s a tall waterslide for older kids and adults, as well as an area for younger kids with smaller slides, a climbing area, and basketball hoops at the edge of the pool to dunk on.

During our visit, I remember my mom spending most of her time in the hot tub watching as we went down the slides. So if you’re a parent, you can relax just like my mom did.

Something we didn’t know is that the waterpark is only open on weekends, so be sure that you stay during a time that it’s open if you hope to use it.

Other top features of a stay at the Holiday Inn & Suites in Maple Grove include free Wi-Fi, free parking, a large fitness center, and select rooms including breakfast.

You’ll find everything that you could possibly be in search of at the Wyndham Garden in Otsego, just about 30 minutes north of Minneapolis.

While you’ll get to stay in classic hotel rooms, there’s a nice-sized waterpark for the entire family to enjoy during your visit.

The lazy river is always my favorite part because it’s so relaxing, and this hotel has one, as well as three waterslides.

Younger kiddos will have a blast in the children’s area, while parents will love seeing the smiles on their children’s faces.

Relax in the large hot tub after a day of exploring, and then head out to enjoy dinner at their on-site restaurant.

Whether you’re planning a visit for a reason or are just looking for a staycation for spring break, this hotel near Minneapolis with waterslides will give you a memorable experience.

“I loved the waterpark. The employees did a great job at maintaining safety and keeping eyes on everything.”

4. Country Inn & Suites — Shoreview

Three white waterslides, similar to at some Minneapolis waterparks.

If you’re looking for a nice and inexpensive hotel that still offers some fun to be had in the pool room, then check out the Country Inn & Suites in Shoreview.

Just a 20-minute drive north of Minneapolis puts this awesome hotel with a waterslide in the perfect location because you won’t have to fight the traffic, but you’ll still be close by.

While this hotel doesn’t have a full waterpark like some of the others do, it does have a really nice waterslide that’s perfect for entertaining little ones.

Or you can just spend time swimming in the pool and relaxing in the hot tub since Minnesota lacks in the natural springs department.

The Country Inn & Suites Shoreview is also pet-friendly, so your dog can tag along for the fun, and join you at some of the best dog-friendly places to eat.

During those cold winter months, booking a stay at a Minneapolis waterpark is one of the best activities in the Twin Cities.

“The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was wonderful and the location was convenient. We will stay again.”

5. Holiday Inn & Suites — Lakeville

A large waterslide, indoor heated pool, and fun kids’ swimming area are what make the Holiday Inn & Suites in Lakeville worth the visit!

Parents can relax in the hot tub as the kiddos have a blast splashing in the pool and getting all of that energy out.

I would recommend choosing a room with a pool view, so you can see the action that’s happening out there and have easy access to the pool.

This is the perfect waterpark hotel in Minneapolis for families with little ones because when I visited, it wasn’t as busy as some of the others. It’s nice and chill, which makes it easier to trust your kids will be safe.

The location puts you within a 20-minute drive of popular attractions like the Mall of America, the Minnesota Zoo, and the MSP Airport.

Grab a drink at the end of the day from the restaurant, Ruby’s Red Eye Grill, or fit in a workout in the fitness center.

Either way, this hotel will provide you with a great place to stay during your visit to the Twin Cities.

“The kids had fun swimming and if they’re happy, I’m happy!”

6. Best Western Plus — Bloomington

🚗 Distance from Minneapolis: 15 minutes | 🏩 View on Booking.com

The Best Western Plus in Bloomington offers a nice small waterpark for children within just a short distance of the Mall of America.

If you have younger kids who enjoy swimming and playing in the pool, this is the perfect place to book a stay.

When I was younger, we would always stay here because it was much more affordable than the Great Wolf Lodge, but it still had a small waterslide, dump buckets, and a shallow pool for little ones.

Also in the pool area, there is a larger pool for others to enjoy, and many lounge chairs to relax in.

One thing that I’ve noticed is that this waterpark is much more suited towards little kids, so if you’re looking for more adult fun, I’d recommend skipping this one and going for the Great Wolf Lodge.

This hotel is directly across from the Mall of America, so if you’re hoping to check out one of the top activities in the city, this is the perfect place to stay.

Before you head out for the day, enjoy a free hot breakfast to fuel yourself up for a big day of exploring the big city. There’s also an on-site restaurant if you want to eat there!

“The pool is great. The location is great. Another great stay going on 15 years!”

This affordable hotel near Minneapolis with a waterslide is perfect for those families looking to spend some time at the Valleyfair amusement park.

It’s just a few miles from Valleyfair, so you’re able to spend time at the indoor waterpark before heading over to spend time at Valleyfair’s Soak City.

Older kids and adults will love the tall and winding waterslide, while little kiddos will have a blast on the small frog slide. There’s also a pool and hot tub to check out!

We’ve stayed here once when we visited Valleyfair, and we didn’t know beforehand that wristbands for the waterslide are extra. So don’t make our mistake, and be sure to ask for those!

Enjoy a free continental breakfast in the mornings, before heading out for the day or heading into the pool for a fun day.

“The pool area was nice the kids loved it and the hot tub was nice and hot! Quiet hotel too. Nice location!”
