My family is from Park Rapids, and growing up, I had the privilege of visiting often, and to this day, it holds a special place in my heart!

Below are some of the very best Park Rapids, MN restaurants to grab a bite to eat at while you’re in town. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, there are many places to go!

1. West Forty Restaurant

West Forty is ‘not a half bad place to eat,’ according to their fitting motto, and the atmosphere of the place sure sums that up!

From the moment you step inside, you’ll be transported to a charming farm atmosphere, complete with tractors and other farm-themed decor.

All of the walls are lined with signs from tractors and wall decor that you’d find right in a little farmhouse.

The food is delicious and tastes very homey, with classic dishes like burgers and sandwiches that are sure to satisfy any appetite.

They also serve delicious breakfast and dinner options, and my personal favorite has to be the country-fried chicken. When served with mashed potatoes, it’s so delicious.

This was my family’s go-to restaurant whenever we visited my grandparents in Park Rapids!

2. Minnesoda Fountain

If you’re looking for a blast from the past, then look no further than Minnesota Fountain, located in the heart of downtown Park Rapids.

As soon as you step through the door, you’ll be transported back to the 1950s with its classic red bar stools, checkered floors, and an abundance of retro wall decor.

The jukebox is stocked with all the hits from the era, adding to the overall ambiance.

Minnesota Fountain serves up giant, tasty sandwiches, accompanied by a generous serving of kettle chips.

And when it’s time for dessert, be sure to check out their impressive selection of ice cream flavors. Whether you’re craving a classic cone or a delicious hot fudge sundae, they have it all.

3. La Pasta Italian Eatery

Because Park Rapids is a small town that is mostly visited during the summer months by tourists, you’ll find that many of the restaurants are seasonal.

La Pasta Eatery is technically found in Dorset, just 15 minutes out of town, and is one of those seasonal restaurants that is only open during summer.

Dorset is known as the Restaurant Capital of the World because there are only 22 residents in the small town, but 4 restaurants! That makes 5.5 restaurants per person!

At La Pasta Eatery, you can taste some of Dorset’s delicious and well-known food, particularly its wide selection of pasta.

From classic dishes like spaghetti and meatballs to more obscure options like mushroom ravioli, there are options for all tastes.

And as a pasta lover, it’s so exciting to always remember that there is somewhere in Park Rapids to grab some delicious Italian food!

4. The Good Life Cafe

If you’re looking for great places to eat in Park Rapids, then the Good Life Cafe should be at the top of your list! It’s a newer restaurant, but still deserves attention!

This modern and welcoming small cafe is family-owned and serves up some of the most delicious foods in town.

One unique thing that you’ll find on their menu is Smørrebrød, which is a Danish open-faced sandwich. I studied abroad and got to try these in Denmark, so be sure to try them in Park Rapids!

You’ll also find other delicious burgers and sandwiches, and Minnesota classics like creamy wild rice hotdish.

Being located right on Main Street makes the Good Life Cafe easy to reach, and easy to check out all of the other great Park Rapids activities while you’re at it!

5. Companeros

My personal favorite place to grab a bite to eat as for Park Rapids, MN restaurants is Companeros, which is a seasonal Tex-Mex restaurant in Dorset.

Once they’ve opened up for the season in May, you’ll never see Companeros empty, because it’s so well-loved by locals!

Start your meal off with a delicious towering pile of (endless) chips and salsa, both mild and spicy, for different tastebuds.

And then dive into their impressive menu, which features every delicious Mexican food that you can imagine, from enchiladas to chimichangas to tacos.

I personally love their chimichangas, and my dad always ordered the House Glenny’s, both absolutely delicious.

On their dessert menu, you’ll be left speechless over their fried ice cream and Mexican mudball. Never leave Companeros without ordering one of each!

6. Zorbaz

Found right outside of Park Rapids, nestled between Ida Lake and Little Sand Lake, is a Minnesotan favorite, Zorbaz.

Each Zorbaz in Minnesota is found on a lake, so of course, the one in Park Rapids is no different!

Here you’ll find a delicious variety of Mexican and American foods. They specialize in Mexican and pizza!

Zorbaz is a popular restaurant in Park Rapids for people going on the lake for the day, but it’s also just a great spot to stop by for lunch!

There’s a dock right off of the parking lot, so you can easily see the water, and enjoy the views from their outdoor patio during the summer months.

7. Rapid River Logging Camp

If you want a totally unique dining experience, then head to Rapid River Logging Camp, just about 10 minutes outside of town.

This Park Rapids, MN restaurant is nestled in the dense forest and is housed in an old logging camp.

After you’ve checked in for a table, you can wander around the property, where you’ll find chickens, a pond with fish to feed, and swings to relax on.

Once it’s your time to head inside, you’ll be seated at a large family-style table, and you’ll have the real experience of what it was like to be a logger back in the early 1900s.

Eat off of metal plates and enjoy an all-you-can-eat breakfast or dinner meal, served family-style.

At breakfast, you’ll have endless pancakes, ham, sausage, eggs, milk, orange juice, and coffee to get you energized for the day.

And at dinner time, you’ll be served heaping plates of roast beef, pork, ham, chicken, BBQ ribs, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn bread, dinner rolls, and more.

For the price of eating, you’ll surely get your fill, because it’s surprisingly more affordable than some of the other places in town. And being all-you-can-eat, you’ll have plenty!

8. The Dorset House

Another seasonal restaurant in Dorset, MN is The Dorset House, which is typically open between May and September.

The serve up a variety of foods from delicious specialty pizzas to their fresh, famous baked chicken.

As for the pizza, try out the gyro pizza, which is something that I’ve personally never heard of at any other pizza restaurant!

And when you’re ready for dessert, check out their huge menu of ice cream, malts, sundaes, pie, and more.

The large outdoor patio is perfect for enjoying the nice weather to enjoy the sunshine while it’s here in Minnesota!

9. Rocky’s Pizza House

If you’re on the hunt for some delicious pizza, then look no more than Rocky’s Pizza House, just a short walk from Main Street.

This is one of the best places to eat in Park Rapids, MN, with cheesy, tasty pizza.

Choose from huge handmade pizza selections from chicken alfredo to a Western chicken, or a bacon cheeseburger.

And if you love pasta and pizza, then check out their combination of the two- a pizza pasta bake, where your favorite pizza is served in pasta form!

My family always loved to dine at Rocky’s, because the pizzas are delicious every time that we go, and we’ve never been disappointed!

Their menu is packed full of classic breakfast foods, from combination meals featuring pancakes, hashbrowns, eggs, and more, as well as specialty omelets and more.

If you aren’t a breakfast fan, then check out their menu with burgers, sandwiches, and baskets.

A personal favorite is the Great Northern Express, which has three eggs, hashbrowns, three pancakes, and ham. All of my favorite breakfast foods!

A unique breakfast place in Park Rapids is Beyond Juice, where you can enjoy a delicious smoothie to get your day going.

Smoothies are such a refreshing food to have for breakfast, and when you can find a good one somewhere, you’ve succeeded!

And at Beyond Juice, they have delicious smoothies! All sorts of flavors are available, from strawberry banana to orange creamsicles, and so many more.

If you aren’t craving a smoothie, there are also a selection of foods like sandwiches or wraps, salads, and breakfast burritos.

Many of the foods, aside from the smoothies, are seasonal and rotate throughout the year, so you might get something different every time you visit!
