1. Kamp Dels

Location: Waterville
Pool Open Season: Memorial Day-Labor Day

There are a lot of fantastic places for camping in Minnesota, but one of the very best for families is Kamp Dels. This was my favorite place to go growing up!

At Kamp Dels, you’ll experience a whole lot more than just a campsite with fire rings and picnic tables; you’ll get an entire waterpark!

There’s a 40,000 square-foot pool area that has giant waterslides, a climbing wall, diving boards, kids areas, and more.

My favorite part is the giant climbing wall that you can climb to the top of and then jump back into the pool. My brother and I spent hours climbing this thing growing up!

After you’ve spent enough time splashing around, you can sit back and relax at your campsite, enjoying the view of Lake Sakatah and roasting a marshmallow.

2. Little Winnie Resort & Campground

Location: Deer River
Pool Open Season: Memorial Day-Labor Day

Little Winnie Resort and Campground is just 45 minutes from my home town, so I spent a few weekends a month here when I was younger. And my family still goes at least once a summer!

Lake Winnibigoshish is one of the best fishing lakes in the state and offers a great place to stay for fishermen. But they also have a large heated swimming pool.

And there are also poolside tables with umbrellas nearby to sit and relax at, as you snack on a treat from the lodge, which is right next door.

The campground has a pretty wide variety of sites from electric to primitive, and there’s a huge wilderness area nearby to escape into the quiet of the wilderness.

3. Kozy Oaks Kamp

Location: North Branch
Pool Open Season: Memorial Day-Labor Day

Being just a short hour’s drive from Minneapolis makes a stay at Kozy Oaks Kamp one of the best places to camp during the summer months.

Their large outdoor pool is a great place to cool down or just hang out while you’re camping. I always love bringing along my swimsuit and jumping in on hot summer days!

Other fun activities include bringing canoes or paddleboats out onto Horseleg Lake, which is accessible right from the campground. Plus there’s volleyvall, horseshoes, an arcade, and more.

Each campsite has its own fire ring, picnic table, and being so close to the Twin Cities, there are tons of other opportunities for things to do nearby.

4. Two Rivers Campground

Location: Royalton
Pool Open Season: Memorial Day-Labor Day

Two Rivers Campground is just a short distance outside of St. Cloud and offers plenty for campers to do as you enjoy time alongside the Mississippi River.

There are two pools – one great for adults and swimming and the other perfect for small kids to splash around in.

I stayed at Two Rivers Campground a few years ago and I remember there being two waterslides in the main pool and my boyfriend, Tyler and I went down them so many times in the sunshine that I got sunburnt on top of my head.

Along with the pools, check out the 18-hole mini golf course, volleyball court, basketball court, and other fun outdoor activities.

And because you’re located alongside the great Mississippi, you can tube down the river and use Two Rivers’ shuttle service to return.

5. Lake of the Woods Campground

Location: Baudette
Pool Open Season: Summer

Nearly across the Canadian border is the beautiful Lake of the Woods Campground, which sits on its namesake lake, Lake of the Woods.

As one of the largest lakes in Minnesota, you can expect to find lots of other people up here, spending time fishing, swimming in the lake, and just enjoying themselves.

At the campground, you can enjoy their large outdoor heated pool, whether you want to jump in and cool off, or just relax on a lounge chair.

Tyler and I spent 3 days at Lake of the Woods Campground last summer (we live just an hour away) and loved being so close to the lake but also having the opportunity to swim in the pool.

Other activities that you can enjoy are the volleyball and basketball courts, a playground for kids, a game room within the store, and boat rentals from local outfitters.

6. Wildwood RV Park & Campground

Location: Shafer
Pool Open Season: Memorial Day-Labor Day

Spending a weekend camping near Taylors Falls gives you the opportunity to explore one of the most adorable towns in southern Minnesota.

Enjoy relaxing in Wildwood RV Park and Campground’s heated pool, which is the perfect place to cool down during the summer months, as it’s the perfect temperature.

Or if you’re like me, who’s obsessed with ice cream, maybe you’ll want to grab an ice cream from the camp store and hangout around the poolside.

Other fun activities at the campground include basketball and volleyball courts, bike trails, mini golf, and a playground.

I’d also recommend heading to Wild Mountain which is just a few minutes drive away where there’s a waterpark! We used to live 30 minutes from Taylors Falls and my favorite part of Wild Mountain is the lazy river which is so relaxing.

If you’re looking to go camping not too far from Minneapolis, this is the perfect place to be.

7. Kiesler’s Campground & RV Resort

Location: Waseca
Pool Open Season: Memorial Day-Labor Day

Situated right on the shores of Clear Lake in Waseca, is Kieseler’s Campground and RV Resort. It has two different pools to check out.

Out of their two pools, one is perfect for little ones, and the other is best for adults and older kids. The big pool has two waterslides going into it which are a lot of fun.

Kids can also get out their energy at the large playground, and grown-ups can sit back and relax along the lakeshore.

Each campsite features its own firepit, picnic table, and water and electric hookups, along with beautiful lake views from your campsite.

A nearly 5-mile trail loops Clear Lake, offering a great place to get out and walk around, or bike. You can also rent a boat and get on the water for some fishing.

8. Pete’s Retreat Family Campground & RV Park

Location: Aitkin
Pool Open Season: Memorial Day-Labor Day

On the outskirts of Aitkin, just a short distance from Mille Lacs Lake, is Pete’s Retreat Family Campground and RV Park.

I really love Pete’s Retreat because not only is there a large heated pool, but there’s also a hot tub. Which if I’m being honest, I prefer over a pool!

A fishing pond, basketball and volleyball courts, a game room, and hayrides on Saturday evenings bring even more fun for guests.

Each campsite will have its own full hookups if you’d like to use them, as well as a fire ring and a picnic table.

Pete’s Retreat was actually voted as one of the top campgrounds in North America, so it’s worth the visit!

9. Balsam Bay Resort & RV Park

Location: Remer
Pool Open Season: Early June-Labor Day

If you’re camping with an RV, then Balsam Bay Resort & RV Park will provide you with one of the best places to park it for the weekend!

You’ll be located just a short distance off Big Sand Lake, so you can enjoy all of the Minnesota lake activities like fishing, swimming, and boating.

And of course, you’ll want to check out the pool, which is perfect for both little ones and adults looking to have some fun.

A small playground and sandbox are found not too far from the pool, so you can bring the kids to play and burn off some energy.

Every campsite features its own wooded area with a campfire ring and a picnic table, and you’ll get to take advantage of the shower house and full hookups if you’d like.

10. Oak Haven Resort & Campground

Location: Bemidji
Pool Open Season: Summer

Found on the banks of the Mississippi River in the Bemidji area, is Oak Haven Resort and Campground.

Enjoy spending time at this great family resort, which features both cabins and a great campground for those looking for a seasonal campground.

The best part about Oak Haven Resort is that there are both indoor and outdoor heated pools, so even if the weather isn’t great, you can still enjoy the pool.

There also is a sauna to use, so you can really relax and use your vacation days to the fullest!

Oak Haven Resort also offers free use of their kayaks and canoes, and you can spend time playing ping pong, volleyball, and more.

If you’re looking for one of the best campgrounds with pools in MN to bring your family to, South Isle Family Campground is a perfect choice.

Whether you’re hoping to just sit back and relax at the campsite or check out their heated swimming pool, there is plenty to do.

Other fun activities near the pool include basketball, pickleball, and volleyball, as well as a playground and a game room.

There are also other planned activities that take place throughout the week that you can check out during your stay.
